It’s back! After a very successful premier in June, another round of Barefaced is kicking off, and Actors can now apply to take part.

Barefaced is a mutual self-help experience for Theatre professionals to flex their Theatre muscles in between contracts. Its unique format works by conducting 3 one-day workshops on weekends in October for professionally-trained Actors (just £3 per day contribution towards costs), in which the techniques of Sandford Meisner, Patsy Rodenburg, and Peter Brook are put to use working up a specially written new piece of writing.

In those workshops, the Actors each create their own characters, using the same script, and with the help of Creatives, create their own performances. For the successful Actors, there will be another 3 weekend days of rehearsals, culminating in 3 performances at the Blue Orange Theatre Birmingham, 11-13 November. On those nights, the Audience assess those Actors who performed best on the night – and the Actors get to take home some cash!

Barefaced Nights in June worked very well, and everyone who took part thought it was a very instructive and enjoyable experience.
