Volunteer at ArtsFest 2012!
Join the team for theUK’s biggest free arts festival, in Birmingham City Centre, on Saturday 8th andSunday 9th September 2012.
ArtsFest is theUK’s biggest free arts festival, presenting the best talent in theMidlandswithout extortionate ticket prices. In fact, everything is free! Highlights of this year’s festival include live screenings of the Closing Ceremony of the Paralympics and the Last Night of the Proms, alongside hundreds of artists, showcasing the very best of music, dance, drama and art from within the region.
We are looking for a large team of enthusiastic and committed volunteers to make ArtsFest happen. Volunteers take on a variety of roles, to suit different levels of commitment and your availability. Amongst other things, volunteers help to ensure the smooth running of venues, answer any enquiries, and help the public to make the most of the festival. Volunteers are also needed at times during the lead up to the festival in the ArtsFest office and on Friday 7th September to help with preparations in the City Centre. The majority of volunteers will be needed to help at the many indoor and outdoor venues around the city centre on the weekend.
Successful applicants will have the opportunity to develop skills in communication and team-work. They will also gain first-hand experience of how a major arts festival is organised. Volunteering at ArtsFest is also a great opportunity to meet new people and build confidence in speaking to the public. Volunteers can expect to work in a friendly, supportive environment, with a thorough briefing prior to the festival weekend, and continuous support from Venue Officers and Birmingham City Council staff.
